UsedVetEquipment.com gives veterinarians a simple, transparent way to buy and sell used equipment. Listings are free, and buyer funds are held until the equipment is inspected and approved.

Sales Commission & Transaction Policies

Commission Rates

• 10% commission on items selling for $1,000 or more.
• 13% commission on items selling for less than $1,000.
• Maximum commission per item: $6,000.
• International sales may have a slightly higher fee due to bank transfer costs.
• Commission is deducted after the buyer approves the purchase.

Listing & Selling Requirements

• There is no charge to list equipment.
• Sellers must complete an online ad form.
• Listings have no time limit.
• Broken or non-working equipment is not accepted.
• Sellers set their own price and may accept or decline offers.

Buyer Payment Options

Buyers receive an invoice and may pay by:

• ACH transfer — no fee
• Credit or debit card — 2.9% fee
• PayPal
• Bank wire transfer — recommended for vehicles and other high-value items

After payment, the funds are held in escrow and the seller is authorized to ship.

Shipping Responsibilities

• The seller is responsible for packaging, shipping, and insurance costs.
• Shipping damage is the seller’s responsibility unless the buyer agrees otherwise.
• Local pickup requires a refundable buyer deposit.
• The buyer may handle shipping when both parties agree in writing.

Inspection Period

Buyers have 4 full business days to inspect and approve the equipment.

Higher-value purchases may receive a 7-day inspection period.

After approval, the seller is paid minus the website commission.

Return Policy

• The buyer pays return shipping when returning an item for personal reasons.
• The seller pays return shipping if the item is defective or misrepresented.

Warranty Disclaimer

This website provides no warranty or guarantee on items sold. Each sale is between the buyer and seller under these terms.

Example Transactions

1. Shipped Equipment Example

The equipment sells for $1,350.00, plus $100.00 shipping, for a total invoice of $1,450.00.

After payment, the seller ships the equipment. The buyer then has 4 full business days to inspect it, or up to 7 consecutive days for higher-value equipment.

Once approved, the seller is paid minus the website sales fee.

2. Local Pickup Example

In this example, the equipment is priced at $5,000.00.

The buyer pays a refundable 10% deposit before receiving the seller’s contact information and arranging an inspection and pickup.

If satisfied, the buyer pays the remaining balance directly to the seller. A bank wire is recommended for vehicles and other expensive equipment. Cash or a cashier’s check may be suitable for smaller purchases.

Once payment is made and the equipment is removed, the sale is complete and the deposit becomes the website commission.

If the buyer declines the equipment after inspection, the deposit is refunded.
