24 ft LaBoit Mobile Veterinary Clinic:

2012 Ford E 450 gasoline engine with approximately 184,000 miles.

This clinic is still on the road today making housecalls and is very functional.

The gas generator and inverter both need replacement for full RV functionality. We use a battery powered generator (not included in sale) currently for running small medical equipment, printers, laptops etc... when we are on housecalls.

The gas generator has not been used in over 3 years. We have been able to run a window a/c unit, all appliances, and all electrical outlets on the RV battery and inverter alone for the last 3 years. A new inverter would cost approx $500-1500 depending on model and installation chosen.

Mobile clinic comes with all cabinetry, wet table, sink, surgery table, surgery lights, refrigerator, cages, etc.

Battery generator not included in sale (and not needed once you replace the inverter).

Currently there is NO anesthesia, xray, or blood machines on the mobile clinic.

These items were all present in the past when we were solely mobile. We moved these pieces of equipment into our brick and mortar clinic as it became busier. Now we use the mobile clinic for routine house calls including wellness visits, minor injury/illness, and of course euthanasia.

Vehicle History

This mobile clinic started as a 2023 Ford cab and chassis, delivered to LaBoit in November 2022. LaBoit completed the custom build and sold it to the original buyer in February 2024.

In March 2025, the first owner had a front-end accident.

The second owner purchased the vehicle from the insurance company, had the front end professionally repaired with OEM parts, and later decided not to proceed with their new business plans.

Accident and Repairs:
The damage was limited to the front end, and no airbags were deployed. Parts replaced included the hood, bumper, fenders, grille, headlights, radiators, and radiator support—all original manufacturer (OEM) components.

Title Status:
Following the repair, the vehicle received a Rebuilt Title and is entirely street legal and registered with the DMV.

Seller comments about not being street legal in CA:

California emissions standards is the only thing that makes the truck not street legal.

CA passed a law that starting in 2023 any diesel motor manufactured prior to 2010 would not be approved for registration renewal.

Our truck is a 2009 and fell just short of the threshold for non-compliance.
This left us with only 2 options:
1. Replace the motor and the drivetrain/transmission
2. Sell to out-of-state buyer where the emissions laws are not as strong.

We were completely unaware of this rule when we bought the truck back in 2017... And... didn't learn about it till we got a letter in the mail that they would not renew our registration beyond Jan 2024. Needless to say it was a big shock.

Other than that the truck is almost flawless. Less than 10K total miles. Still runs and drives. Everything including the cruise control still works. Purrs like a tiger

The only legal way is to tow to state line.
Logistically the new owner would need to have a temp registration for the vehicle from their state prior to vehicle retrieval. That way the new owner can legally drive it to and from anywhere outside of CA. There may be room for negotation about "pick-up" at state line.
If owner wants to view or test drive that is also likely possible...there is an extra large parking lot near vehicle storage location where we are technically not on public roads and the vehicle can be test driven

Questions and Answers:

What are the water tank sizes--both freshwater? 10 gallon
And greywater? not sure but it is larger so my guess is 15 or 20 gallon
Hot water--do you know if the vehicle can be retrofitted for a hot water system? Yes
O2--did you use tanks and if so, what size? Not the smallest...about 30 inches tall, we had 2 or 3 secured to the wall on the side of the table near the end of the cabinet
Is the anesthesia machine in good working order? It hasn't been used in 2 yrs so not entirely sure of condition
I see what looks like a missing drawer next to the sink? What's the story behind that? I believe that drawer is still in the truck but might need some new rail slides
What about surgery or exam lights? It is wired for a plug in surgery light and has a yellow articulating arm for mounting but no light you would need to provide your own
Generator -- can it run in place or does it need to be pulled out to operate and how many hours of power will this provide? Needs to be pulled out-there is ramp tucked away under the generator...about 5 hours on full power per tank of gas, regular gasoline ...can be refilled during use. We also adjusted our power technique and also had 2 smaller whisper honda generators and used the generack as an emergency back up,
Can the vehicle be run off shore power? yes, we did 110
Is the surgery suite separated from the rest of the unit by any doors or partitions? No
Do you have a detailed floor plan? No
When was it last serviced, and what was performed? I believe the service records are inside the truck in the binder under the passenger seat...but from memory, the truck was given a tune-up and an alternator service september of 2024
How old are the tires, and are they in good shape? Not sure how old. but they are in good shape and lots of tread...truck has very low miles
I'm not familiar with the CA laws. If I got a temporary out-of-state registration, could I drive it from your location out of CA to its new home, or would it have to be towed to the CA state line for absolute sure? It can not be driven legally in CA due to the CARB diesel law...if you got stopped it would be impounded. it does need to be towed out to be certain

Powering the unit:

When parked at home there is a “shore cord” that “powers up” everything AC & DC! When the motor is running, Mercedes has installed a “governor” that increases the RPMs to avoid fouling the diesel filter and provides full power to the front, back, and additional operating room heat & AC units (additional AC/heat in OR added by my Luxury Coach vendor in KC). So no generator is necessary. The inverter is brand new ($3000) addition in 2025).

Year 2017 - Heska HT5 CBC, Dri-Chem chemistry, & Element I immunoassay I’ve replaced the HT5 once, it went bad one day and I had a new one installed the next day. Heska does require a contract as no one owns their equipment anymore. None of this equipment has been used hardly at all. Less than 30 blood panels/CBC/T4 per month. Update 1/2026: The Heska (now Anrtech) contract has been canceled with the legal team at Heska effective April 30 2026 and I have informed them I do not intend to renew as I am planning on selling the van. In the past they have told me "in writing" that they would allow any buyer to "assume" my contract with the details on assumption to be negotiable. Also, I am happy to remove it from the van purchase but the price is same.
