We have a very nice, all stainless steel Suburban Surgical ICU on a rolling cart. The item came from a government lab that periodically replaces equipment after a specific period.

The unit was lightly used and has a new oxygen sensor. Features include oxygen administration, dual oxygen cages (or remove divider for one large cage) with vinyl-coated floor grates, heated floors, and cooled cages with temp readout and humidity readout.

While this unit is not as sophisticated as the Snyder ICU unit, it's constructed of much higher quality materials (stainless versus particleboard).

It's also less finicky than the electronics on the Snyder, as it has analog primarily electronics versus electronic circuit boards.

Bottom line: all you need to do is administer oxygen, control CO2, and cool/heat as needed. This approach does it all without the problematic bells and whistles, all for $20,000 to $ 25,000 less. We can deliver for a reasonable charge to most areas within 500-600 miles of Dallas, TX or you can pickup for free from the Arlington, TX (Dallas) area; you would typically need an open bed trailer with ramp due to the height of the unit and that we do not have a dock.

All ICU’s are usually hooked up to oxygen generators (higher volume than a “concentrator”), liquid oxygen or regular compressed oxygen tanks. We do sell 10 LPM concentrators and have run this unit on 2 units Y’d together, it works but takes a little longer to reach 50%+ oxygen level in the cage than the other supply options.

Concentrators are of course significantly lower cost to supply an ICU than any of the other options as after you buy the concentrator it’s just the minimal cost of electricity.

The next lowest cost is liquid oxygen tanks which usually are not that expensive of a way to source your oxygen, at least not in the Dallas area. Oxygen generators are great but have an extremely high purchase cost ($50,000 plus).

It doesn’t require any other equipment other oxygen hose which will include (10’ or more if needed).
